Small-leaved linden (Tilia cordata) is a typical Central European tree, occurring throughout our territory and is also part of mixed foothill and mountain forests.
Beware of confusion with other types of linden - American, silver or felt, which are unsuitable for medical purposes!
The small-leaved linden has long been valued for the healing properties of its flowers, as a pasture for bees and for the quality of its wood. Tea from its flowers expels fever from the body, helps with colds, hoarseness, fatigue, inflammation and is good for the stomach. It is suitable to use it in a mixture with other herbs with similar effects.
Internal use
Linden flowers are used internally in the form of infusion. Linden tea is drunk in infectious and febrile diseases, when a sweating treatment is desirable, ie for colds, coughs, colds, obstruction of the upper respiratory tract or bronchitis.
Linden flower has an anti-fever, anti-inflammatory, promotes sweat production, dissolves mucus, also has an anticonvulsant and mild diuretic effect and is also part of many medicinal tea mixtures used for colds, upper respiratory tract infections and fever.
Linden flower tea is also suitable for children and is used for colds and irritating coughs. It also has a beneficial effect on the regulation of digestive system activity. In a mixture with Aronia - Black Rowan, it reduces fever, promotes sweating, dissolves mucus and reduces cough irritation.
Linden blossom is also suitable for kidney and bladder diseases, as well as a means of supporting stomach and digestive activity. It increases the excretion of urine and gastric juices, improves digestion and relieves cramps.
External use
Externally, linden flowers are used in the form of a hair wash infusion as an aid in the treatment of dandruff. Also as a gargle, mouthwash or bath additive.

Ingredients:
Preparation: Put the linden flower in a mug, pour boiling water over it and let it infuse for 10 minutes. Then drain the tea and sweeten with honey.

Ingredients

4 liters of water
4 teaspoons citric acid
2.5 kg of sugar
Preparation: Put the linden flowers in a pot of water, add citric acid and let it infuse for at least 1 day. Then strain, bring to a boil and add sugar to the cooking mixture. With occasional stirring, cook on low heat (about 2 hours) until thickened to a honey consistency.
From the stated amount of ingredients, we obtain 2.5 kg of honey.
The linden flower is suitable for both children and the elderly, and most patients tolerate its long-term use without any problems. However, it is allergotropic, so inhaled use is not recommended in sensitive individuals.
